Solar panels are a great way to lower your carbon footprint and your energy costs while maintaining unique design elements. This is also a great solution for when electrical services are not available in the desired sign location.

Solar panels are designed to withstand the harshest weather conditions. Extreme cold temperatures aren’t an issue, even -40 degrees. They’re also tough enough to withstand hail as big as 24mm and 4000pa of wind.

Larger Signs

As solar signs become larger you’ll need to compensate for the amount of electricity required to power the LED lighting. This is very simply achieved by adding more batteries and more solar panels.

Solar Panel

Your standard solar panel is 70in by 40in and is made of aluminum alloy and tempered glass. A panel contains multiple 6in solar cells.

Solar Circuit

The circuitry for a solar sign is actually quite simple. The energy collected by the solar panel charges a deep cycle battery. This battery in turn powers the LED lighting. The brain of the circuit is the controller. The controller regulates the charging of the battery and is also programmed to turn the LED on at the desired times.
